At Blake Austin College, we understand that Dental Assisting is an very important part of a professional health team. That is why our highly educated and experienced team of instructors is dedicated to you and your success. In our newly remodeled and dedicated dental wing, you will receive training and learn the skills needed to be successful in related laboratory procedures as well as administrative by training in various front office skills and software.
As a Dental Assistant, you will be able to perform duties authorized by the Dental Board of California. Tailored to those that pay attention to detail, as a Dental Assistant you will perform many duties chair-side with the dentist during patient treatment and you will also perform procedures on your own. Examples include taking x-rays, polishing teeth, placing pit and fissure sealants, taking impressions, pouring models, performing orthodontic procedures, fabricating temporary crowns and placing temporary fillings. After completing the program you will be qualified to work in the field while waiting to sit for the three State Tests to become a Registered Dental Assistant.
Your training as a Dental Assistant will prepare you for work in small or private dental offices, large dental companies, County or State facilities in the areas of General Dentistry, Endodontics, Oral Surgery, Periodontics, Pedodontics, Orthodontics, the front office of a clinic and other professional settings.
