State of Alabama, Dental Lab Technology Certification Requirements

Per the American Dental Association:

You must have received your training through an accredited program from a community college, vocational or trade school, university, or dental school.

To be eligible for the certified dental technician exam, you must:

Be a high school graduate or equivalent.

Understand English through written and verbal communications.

Have proof of certificate or degree.

You must complete 3 of the exams successfully within 4 years of graduating: A written comprehensive exam, a written specialty exam, and a hands-on practical exam all within the same specialty.

Your license must be renewed yearly.

There are 12 CEUs required yearly.
